Deer Season (2018)

McHarg forces you to engage with the story he tells because you know something’s about to happen, you just don’t know what, how, why, or when. Then he ends with a punchline that packs a punch.

– Film Threat

McHarg captures something inhuman in the otherwise idyllic autumnal environs of these Washington forests…unspoken anxieties—about family, maleness, class and ownership—and the forest’s vacant refusal to cure them.
